fix: restore Harbor adapter execution and usage reporting - #534
Restore Harbor execution and usage reporting across the affected NVIDIA NeMo Fabric adapters. Fix provider and pricing failures, retain invocation-local usage with explicit cache/reasoning semantics, and transport adapter model settings through the SDK Harbor bridge. Missing or unverified counters remain unknown.
Stack layer 1 of 3, targeting release/0.6. Supersedes #522. The adapter fixes preserve the 0.6.0 release line; validation below distinguishes retained trials from the current release-base update.
Next layers: #535 (registered workflows) → #536 (qualification skill).
I confirm this contribution is my own work, or I have the right to submit it under this project's license.
I searched existing issues and open pull requests, and this does not duplicate existing work.
Details
Deep Agents: resolve workspace aliases safely and retain cache-inclusive input usage without promoting partial message sums.
Mini-SWE: preserve the served model ID through NVIDIA/LiteLLM dispatch. Allow explicit cost_tracking="disabled" for unpriced models only with a positive turn bound; leave cost unknown. Default pricing remains strict.
NOOA BenchAgent: retain positive task-accumulator observations, including failed results, with cache-inclusive input semantics. Ambiguous zeros remain unknown.
OpenHands: use LiteLLM's NVIDIA NIM dispatch while preserving the model ID on the wire. Require actual SDK usage/cost records and declare cache-inclusive prompt counts without double counting.
Pi: use the compatible SDK package set and collect invocation usage from new session-ledger entries, including compaction, branch summaries, and nested model usage. Preserve missing/zero distinctions, include cache once, and disable adapter-owned cache warming outside the ledger.
OpenClaw: support an explicit streaming-usage setting and retain descriptor-declared gateway observations. Standard totals stay unknown when aggregate scope cannot be verified.
Harbor SDK bridge: forward optional provider/model settings through admission without rewriting the served model ID. Native Harbor projection remains a separate follow-up.
Strands/Kilo: declare reasoning-inclusive output semantics and document background-process lifetime.
Retain the Mini-SWE/NOOA LiteLLM compatibility constraints and Pi's compatible SDK pins. Synchronize descriptors, catalog, package contents, and documentation. This layer does not revise the adapter contract, shared pricing policy, task/verifier, resources, or cleanup requirements.
Validation
Retained adapter coverage is supplemented by one fresh OpenHands trial at integrated source b5456f2e3c70c6fafddf5703c01b174a796215ce. The stack is rebased onto release/0.6 at 5e59de4842cd171b8e5e2bcf1d03d8de306d3794, retaining the release security/dependency update and supported OpenClaw 2026.9.34. Its equivalent OpenShell fix is already in the base. The Harbor bridge and workflow implementation are unchanged; OpenClaw's supported-version pin and inherited dependencies differ from prior live evidence. Old OpenClaw/Hermes trials remain historical evidence, not qualification of the upgraded harness versions. One fresh focused OpenClaw trial at integrated source 22a19b05988e0993141270b6d4464beec438a749 passed integration with OpenClaw 2026.9.34 (task reward 0). Independent verification covers 55 artifact hashes / 11 resource samples, original task/verifier/resources, result/accounting transport, cleanup and unchanged model service. It retains observations of input 106718 / output 1416 (scope_unverified); complete usage remains unknown. The final restack changes only one test expectation relative to that source; product and qualification sources are byte-identical. Qualification preparation now uses Node.js 24.22.1 and OpenClaw 2026.9.34. Retained local/Docker Harbor trials do not qualify OpenShell features.
Retained full Python suite (before the OpenShell release-base update): 3,293 passed, 146 skipped, two existing deprecation warnings, with stable generated files.
just docs passes with Rust 1.94.0 (0 errors, 12 existing warnings); generated-link and skill validation pass.
Serialized B200 trials use native Harbor 0.24.1.dev202610250408, the existing Nemotron service, and original TB2 kv-store-grpc task/verifier with 1 CPU / 2 GiB. Reports retain all 18 catalog rows.
Task reward and complete usage availability are informational under the integration criterion. Normalized accounting must reach Harbor unchanged; SDK summaries do not certify exhaustive provider billing.
The fresh OpenHands archive independently verifies 56 file hashes / 9 resource samples, reward 1, reported input 114004/output 1606 transported identically into Harbor, all integration checks, package/descriptor identities, original task/resources, cleanup, and unchanged model service. Available complete cost is retained independently when token coverage is missing; partial cost remains unknown.
Earlier retained evidence includes 209 hashes / 85 samples for the six-adapter subset and 56 hashes for Deep Agents. This is scoped/composite evidence, not a fresh full-catalog run. Original failed attempts, including the preparation failure fixed by installing the release branch's new evidence wheel, are preserved. Current-head CI is tracked in Checks.
Review follow-up: retain provider inference by default. An OpenAI-compatible endpoint alone does not justify openai; Mini-SWE/OpenHands need the inferred nvidia provider for the Nemotron example. Confirmed LiteLLM rejects the unchanged ID and accepts nvidia_nim/; synchronized the consumer skill, Harbor guidance and qualification runbook. Docs build passes (0 errors, 12 existing warnings), both skills validate, generated-link test and scoped pre-commit pass. This is a prose-only change; retained runtime/gate evidence remains applicable.
Premerge release-base validation: the full just test-python run at 22a19b05 recorded 3,300 passed, 146 skipped, two existing warnings, and one stale OpenClaw version assertion failure. The same assertion was reproduced in CI on Linux and Windows. e9c2c6f5 updates its expected supported version from 2026.9.4 to 2026.9.34; the corrected OpenClaw adapter/E2E suite passes 89 tests, 8 expected skips. Scoped pre-commit and diff checks pass. The restacked current heads are fix: restore Harbor adapter execution and usage reporting #534e9c2c6f5, feat: support registered workflows through the Harbor bridge #5358f5ef2a4, test: add single-task Harbor qualification skill #536fc61fc2b; their fresh CI is running. This is not a fresh full-suite pass at the corrected head.
Where should the reviewer start?
Review Deep Agents/Pi/Qwen invocation accounting, Mini-SWE's bounded pricing policy, and Harbor model-settings transport. Then inspect OpenClaw's observation extension and OpenHands's real-SDK regressions alongside the corresponding descriptors, catalog, and package checks.

This pull request updates usage accounting, model dispatch, and configuration across multiple adapters. It adds Harbor model options, Mini-SWE-Agent cost tracking settings, SDK compatibility constraints, and related schemas, tests, and documentation.
The backend resolves workspace paths through its confined resolver. Documentation and tests cover path behavior, file operations, and traversal and symlink-escape checks.

# Contribute a First-Party NVIDIA NeMo Fabric Adapter
## Repository Integration
For usage changes, verify invocation-local accounting through the adapter contract and consumer SDK, including warm-session deltas, unknown counters, cache semantics, and unsuccessful results. Keep generated schemas and language bindings in parity. Preserve the closed `fabric.adapter/v1alpha2` `AgentUsage` shape; carry detailed cache-write, reasoning, peak request, and per-model data in the descriptor-declared `usage.extensions["nemo_fabric.detailed_token_usage.v1"]` object until a new adapter contract revision negotiates those fields. Consumers treat any detailed field for an input or output dimension as selecting the detailed counters for that dimension, so require complete, internally consistent counters instead of relying on the top-level view as a fallback.

The comment asks the author to verify an external Strands CLI 0.2.1 behavior. It does not identify a defect in the changed code that the supplied evidence establishes, so no publishable finding remains.
The changed lines declare output_tokens_include_reasoning: true as an adapter-owned usage extension. The inline comment at those lines states the premise: CLI 0.2.1 forwards SDK output usage without subtracting reasoning. The supplied normalizeUsage behavior emits complete input, output, and total counters, and the prompt path returns that normalized usage. Nothing in the inspected code contradicts the declared semantics. The only concern is that the external premise is unverified in this review. An unverified external premise is not a defect in the diff. The existing test checks only that the flag is emitted, which is a coverage observation about a correct declaration, not a broken assertion.
I did not inspect the Strands CLI 0.2.1 release or its documentation, so I cannot confirm the premise either way. The review does not show that the premise is false, and the repository does not show a consumer that would misread the flag.
The command omits --save-exact, so npm can save the four @1.0.3 arguments as ^1.0.3. A lockfile-free reinstall can then select newer packages or fail while resolving the adapter's exact 1.0.3 peers. The guide already states that newer pi-codemode versions can have incompatible exports.

Reviewed adapter execution/model dispatch, invocation-local usage accounting, and provider/model-settings transport through the Harbor SDK bridge. Key takeaway: retain unknown counters, declare cache/reasoning inclusion, and avoid counting breakdowns twice.
Stack-level validation at #536's head: 118 qualification tests passed locally; Rust formatting and diff checks passed. Core Python/Rust/TypeScript/Check CI passed. Broader local execution tests stalled without diagnosis; no fresh live inference/container trials were run.
No confirmed correctness blocker found in this scoped review. Please clear the missing NVSkills validation status before merging.

Overview
Restore Harbor execution and usage reporting across the affected NVIDIA NeMo Fabric adapters. Fix provider and pricing failures, retain invocation-local usage with explicit cache/reasoning semantics, and transport adapter model settings through the SDK Harbor bridge. Missing or unverified counters remain unknown.
Stack layer 1 of 3, targeting
release/0.6. Supersedes #522. The adapter fixes preserve the 0.6.0 release line; validation below distinguishes retained trials from the current release-base update.Next layers: #535 (registered workflows) → #536 (qualification skill).
Details
cost_tracking="disabled"for unpriced models only with a positive turn bound; leave cost unknown. Default pricing remains strict.Retain the Mini-SWE/NOOA LiteLLM compatibility constraints and Pi's compatible SDK pins. Synchronize descriptors, catalog, package contents, and documentation. This layer does not revise the adapter contract, shared pricing policy, task/verifier, resources, or cleanup requirements.
Validation
Retained adapter coverage is supplemented by one fresh OpenHands trial at integrated source
b5456f2e3c70c6fafddf5703c01b174a796215ce. The stack is rebased ontorelease/0.6at5e59de4842cd171b8e5e2bcf1d03d8de306d3794, retaining the release security/dependency update and supported OpenClaw2026.9.34. One fresh focused OpenClaw trial at integrated source22a19b05988e0993141270b6d4464beec438a749passed integration with OpenClaw2026.9.34(task reward 0). Independent verification covers 55 artifact hashes / 11 resource samples, original task/verifier/resources, result/accounting transport, cleanup and unchanged model service. It retains observations of input 106718 / output 1416 (scope_unverified); complete usage remains unknown. The final restack changes only one test expectation relative to that source; product and qualification sources are byte-identical. Qualification preparation now uses Node.js24.22.1and OpenClaw2026.9.34. Retained local/Docker Harbor trials do not qualify OpenShell features.just docspasses with Rust 1.94.0 (0 errors, 12 existing warnings); generated-link and skill validation pass.0.24.1.dev202610250408, the existing Nemotron service, and original TB2kv-store-grpctask/verifier with 1 CPU / 2 GiB. Reports retain all 18 catalog rows.scope_unverified; complete usage unknownTask reward and complete usage availability are informational under the integration criterion.
An OpenAI-compatible endpoint alone does not justify
openai; Mini-SWE/OpenHands need the inferrednvidiaprovider for the Nemotron example. Confirmed LiteLLM rejects the unchanged ID and acceptsnvidia_nim/; synchronized the consumer skill, Harbor guidance and qualification runbook. Docs build passes (0 errors, 12 existing warnings), both skills validate, generated-link test and scoped pre-commit pass. This is a prose-only change; retained runtime/gate evidence remains applicable.Premerge release-base validation: the full
just test-pythonrun at22a19b05recorded 3,300 passed, 146 skipped, two existing warnings, and one stale OpenClaw version assertion failure. The same assertion was reproduced in CI on Linux and Windows.e9c2c6f5updates its expected supported version from2026.9.4to2026.9.34; the corrected OpenClaw adapter/E2E suite passes 89 tests, 8 expected skips. Scoped pre-commit and diff checks pass. The restacked current heads are fix: restore Harbor adapter execution and usage reporting #534e9c2c6f5, feat: support registered workflows through the Harbor bridge #5358f5ef2a4, test: add single-task Harbor qualification skill #536fc61fc2b; their fresh CI is running. This is not a fresh full-suite pass at the corrected head.Where should the reviewer start?
Review Deep Agents/Pi/Qwen invocation accounting, Mini-SWE's bounded pricing policy, and Harbor model-settings transport. Then inspect OpenClaw's observation extension and OpenHands's real-SDK regressions alongside the corresponding descriptors, catalog, and package checks.
