- Around line 8-9: Update the product naming in examples/openshell_sdk/README.md
at lines 8-9 to use “NVIDIA NeMo Fabric” on its first mention, and at lines
31-32 to use “NeMo Fabric” thereafter; ensure the prose no longer refers to the
product as “Fabric” by itself.
Review comments at @examples/openshell/README.md:
- Around line 33-34: Update the version environment-variable lookup in
run-demo.sh to read OPENSHELL_VERSION, matching the README and preserving the
v0.1.2 default.
- Line 53: Update the “Fabric-ready agent” phrase in the README to use the
product name: write “NVIDIA NeMo Fabric” on first use and “NeMo Fabric” on later
uses.
Review comments at @examples/openshell/run-demo.sh:
- Around line 259-267: Add fallback cleanup for the Fabric-owned sandbox while
the gateway is still running, covering provider release failures that escape the
consumer. Record the sandbox ID returned by preparation and delete only if a
fresh lookup shows the current sandbox ID matches it; do not delete by name
alone. Locate the preparation and release flow used by `run_consumer` in the
Fabric-owned branch.

150-166: Fabric-owned failure cleanup runs only when the consumer wrote the state file. The previous concern about Fabric-owned sandbox cleanup is now handled at Lines 150-166. The launcher deletes the sandbox only when the current ID matches the recorded ID. That behavior is correct.
One gap remains. If
prepare_environment()creates the sandbox but fails before the consumer records it, no state file exists and no cleanup runs. This is a narrow window, and the code is acceptable for an example.tests/scripts/test_openshell_launcher.py: 2
150-158: The ast-grepsubprocess-from-requestfindings are false positives. The commands are fixed
bashinvocations. The arguments come from test fixtures, and no request input reaches them. No change is needed. Also applies to: 279-285

140-147: Add a bounded cleanup path ifstart_runtime_infails after environment creation. The
finallyblock releases the environment even whenstart_runtime_inraises. This path looks correct. One gap remains. If
runtime.stop()raises in thefinallyblock,release_environmentstill runs because of the nestedfinally. That is correct. The original exception is replaced by the stop failure, though. The caller then loses the primary failure cause. This is a minor diagnostic issue and not a defect.
49-56: Write the state file with restricted permissions and fsync before the rename. The file holds the sandbox ID that the launcher uses to delete the Fabric-owned sandbox. The temporary file uses default permissions. The sandbox ID is not a secret, and the launcher only reads the file after the consumer exits. The risk is low, so no change is required.

Stack 5 of 8 → Block 5: normal SDK example and shared OpenShell launcher
Add a minimal, model-free agent that shows the complete host-to-sandbox path through the normal NeMo Fabric SDK. The consumer owns lifecycle calls; the packaged task agent has no OpenShell-specific code. The shared launcher supports caller-owned and Fabric-owned sandboxes, builds a pinned SDK/task image, and verifies detach versus release behavior.
This block also adds the image packaging, focused lifecycle and launcher tests, and concise docs needed to show what a Fabric-ready agent must provide.
Stack position: Stack 5 of 8 → Block 5, based on Block 4.
Validation: 15 SDK/provider and launcher tests passed; shell syntax and Python compilation passed. The full Docker/OpenShell gateway demo was not run in this environment.
