Problem and value

Fixes #600.

In \rchify/delta/architecture-delta.mjs, \presentationChanged(base, head)\ extracts presentation attributes to detect whether base and head differences affect presentation rather than architecture graph topology. While \meta.locale\ and \meta.legend\ were included, \meta.translations\ was omitted.

When an author changes, adds, or removes custom UI/legend translation entries under \meta.translations\ (as documented in
eferences/authoring-contract.md), \compare architecture\ produced differing semantic hashes and correctly rendered the updated translations, but reported \presentationChanged: false\ in the delta summary.

Stability impact

  • Impact class: Low (presentation-only delta classification).
  • Changed behavior: When \meta.translations\ differs between base and head,
    eceipt.summary.presentationChanged\ is now \ rue.
  • Preserved behavior: Key reordering in \meta.translations\ continues to report \presentationChanged: false\ because \canonical(value)\ sorts dictionary keys lexicographically. Graph topology (components, connections, boundaries) and provenance remain unaffected.

Tests run

  • Evaluated head \34b9b20\ against base \upstream/main\ (\d5a1333).

  • ode --test archify/test/architecture-delta.test.mjs: All 42 tests pass (40 existing + 2 new regression tests covering translation modifications, additions, removals, and key-reordering equivalence).

Generated artifacts

  • \rchify.zip: Rebuilt using \scripts/build-zip.sh\ with canonical Node 22 (\22.23.3, bundled zlib \1.3.1-e00f703) to maintain zip freshness.

Review in Change Stack →

📝 Summary

presentationChanged() now detects edits, additions, and removals in meta.translations. Translation dictionary key reordering remains equivalent, and the tests check that graph changes stay empty and the embedded receipt reports the change. This extends comparison classification without changing public APIs. The reviewed change is based on 7aa5885, with embedded-receipt coverage added at 6196492; the author-reported base/head were d5a1333 and 34b9b20. The author reports 42 tests passing at that revision. No CI result is supplied for the checked revision, 6196492.

The presentation comparison now includes meta.translations from both snapshots. Tests cover changed, added, and removed translations, confirm that translation key order alone does not change the result, and verify that the embedded receipt reports the presentation change.

Full details: Contribution Scope

Explanation

The behavior scope is focused and linked to issue #600. The submitted delivery is incomplete: archify/delta/architecture-delta.mjs contains the new translations fields, but the tracked archify.zip is unchanged and its packaged delta module lacks them. The source and archive hashes differ. This contradicts the PR's claim that the archive was rebuilt. The PR also omits the required AI assistance/accountability section from the template.

Resolution

Rebuild archify.zip from the final tracked source with the canonical toolchain, commit the refreshed archive, and verify its byte match with the source. Add the required AI-use, tools/model, accountable contributor, problem-origin, and human-review disclosures, or provide them in the approved PR record.

Full details: Validation Evidence

Explanation

The reviewed head is 6196492 over base 25cf370. The changed translation test verifies the JSON and embedded receipts, but it does not verify translations-delta.receipt.json. The existing sidecar test uses a different fixture, so it does not prove this regression path. The reported 42-test result targets 34b9b20, which is unavailable locally and is not the reviewed head. The authoritative diff also leaves archify.zip unchanged; its bundled architecture-delta.mjs lacks the translations projection, despite the PR claiming a rebuild. CONTRIBUTING.md requires ZIP freshness for Skill runtime changes.

Resolution

Add a translation-specific assertion that reads translations-delta.receipt.json and checks summary.presentationChanged === true. Rebuild and commit archify.zip from the reviewed source with the canonical toolchain, or correct the PR claim if the artifact is intentionally out of scope; verify the archive contains the translations projection. Rerun the focused architecture-delta test and the ZIP freshness check at head 6196492, and record those results.

Assert the embedded receipt

The JSON assertion covers finalReceipt, which is also the sidecar payload. The test does not inspect the embedded artifactIr receipt in translations-delta.html. The HTML validator checks that the receipt script exists, but it does not check summary.presentationChanged. A regression that drops that field from the embedded receipt can therefore pass.

Suggested fix

Assert presentationChanged in the translation sidecar receipt.

The translation test checks the CLI receipt and embedded receipt, but not the generated sidecar. A regression that updates only the embedded receipt can pass this test. Add a sidecar assertion for the translation case.

Thank you for the translation-change fix and the regression cases covering the comparison receipt.

We have compared the current renderer patches: this PR and #603 make the same change to presentationChanged, adding meta.translations to both presentation snapshots. #603 also covers adding/removing/editing translations, key-order stability, rendered wording, and the embedded/sidecar receipts.

We are consolidating this fix in #603 and closing this PR as a duplicate. The bug in #600 remains open; this closure does not mean the fix has shipped. If there is a distinct regression case we have missed, please point it out so it can be retained in the remaining PR. Thanks again for the contribution.

Run the CLI for translation additions and removals.

The addition and removal cases call compareArchitecture directly. They do not verify the CLI input and receipt path. Add CLI assertions for both cases. The existing sidecar assertion covers a different fixture and does not protect these translation transitions.

Exercise translation key reordering through the public CLI.

The new test calls compareArchitecture directly. No test in test/ reorders meta.translations through run(['compare', 'architecture', ...]). This leaves the CLI receipt path uncovered for the required equivalence case. The addition and removal checks are separate direct-helper cases, so adding CLI assertions for them does not cover this gap.

Closing as consolidated into #603, following the recorded maintainer decision. #603 retains the translation projection fix and the embedded-receipt coverage, with additional empty/omitted catalog and public CLI cases; its description now explicitly acknowledges @Totopo27's contribution here. #603 is still open, so #600 remains open until the continuing fix is integrated. Thank you for the contribution.
