ESPN deletes an unneeded "if necessary" playoff game instead of cancelling it. NLDS Game 5 (SD @ MIL, 401908006) vanished when MIL won Game 4 on 10-08; its state:pre row was never overwritten, so tipoffwatch showed https://tipoffwatch.com/events/721882 as scheduled.

  • heldItems query + ctx.held in the ingest runner: a source's stored rows by tags and start window.
  • fetchSchedule returns complete (false when the undated board stood in).
  • espn-schedule asks the board back to the earliest held pre fixture (≤3 days), and writes any held fixture a complete board no longer lists as state:post, statusDetail Canceled, tag canceled, data.canceled: true — ESPN's own shape for a called-off game.
  • Tests: 4 new, full suite 2355 pass.

ESPN does not cancel an unneeded "if necessary" playoff game, it deletes it.
The NLDS Game 5 (Padres at Brewers, 401908006) left every scoreboard when
Milwaukee won Game 4, nothing ever overwrote its state:pre, and every mirror
(tipoffwatch) listed it as scheduled through its start time.

The schedule pass now reads the league's held state:pre fixtures (ctx.held,
back three days) and, on a complete board answer, writes any that are no
longer listed as post / Canceled with a canceled tag. An undated stand-in
board cancels nothing.
