Walmart Category IDs

Search and copy Walmart category IDs for SerpApi's walmart search engine. The dataset is included; the explorer is static and needs no build step.

Open http://localhost:8080. Search by name or ID, filter by Browse/Departments, copy complete IDs, or export the JSON. Serve the directory locally because browsers cannot fetch the neighboring JSON from a file:// page.

Update the dataset

Requires Node.js; no scraper dependencies to install.

The scraper reads Walmart's /all-departments navigation and updates walmart-categories.json. Refresh the explorer to see new data. This is a curated navigation list, not a complete product taxonomy.

Output

Each flat category record includes:

• cat_id: complete value for SerpApi's cat_id parameter
• name: Walmart's displayed label
• url: source Walmart category URL
• kind: department for /cp/ or browse for /browse/
• parent_cat_id: top-level department ID for browse categories

department IDs include permanent departments and promotional collections.
