The popup terminal took every key, so the prefix never reached the shell and copy mode could not be entered over it. Its scroll position and content revision also never left the server, so neither copy mode nor a drag selection could map viewport rows onto absolute scrollback rows. The shell now keeps the prefix while a popup holds input and forwards every other key unchanged. Copy-mode and selection requests for the popup use new popup.* endpoint methods, because the popup pane belongs to no workspace and pane.* cannot resolve it. The popup's scroll metrics and content revision ride a named control message added by a new shell.surface.v2 codec; shell.surface.v1 stays the negotiated fallback and its frames are unchanged byte for byte, so a generation-1 client keeps working with popup copy mode simply unavailable. Those metrics are paired with one exact surface frame rather than applied on arrival. A viewport row becomes an absolute row through `max_offset_from_bottom - offset_from_bottom`, so metrics from a different frame resolve a selection to the wrong rows, and a scroll-only move leaves content_revision untouched, so no staleness guard would reject it — the copy would just be silently wrong. Each report is therefore stamped with the revision of the frame it belongs to, popup metrics join the server's dedup key so a scroll alone still produces a frame to pair with, and a client that has no metrics for the frame on screen disables popup copy mode and popup selection instead of assuming an offset. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Two shell clients on one server left the assertion dependent on which one was foreground and owned the tab geometry, which held locally but failed on the macOS runner. Each case now renders one popup frame for one client, and also pins that the metrics carry that frame's revision. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The splits, tabs and workspaces it creates go through the real API, so each one spawned the configured default shell. Those panes outlived the test and hung the Windows run for 540s until nextest cancelled it. Use the immediately-exiting command the other API tests use and shut the runtimes down at the end. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Five paths still assumed the copy-mode target is a workspace pane. Snapshots arrive on any agent status change, and the popup terminal never appears in their pane list, so both membership tests treated it as gone: the pending scroll maps were pruned and copy mode itself was dropped back to Terminal, sending the next navigation key to the popup's process. The popup's reached scroll target was likewise never cleared, because only `surface.panes` entries were, which pinned the copy-mode offset and suppressed the cursor and highlights for good. Prefix actions reach the shell over a popup now, so a client modal can be opened on top of one, but popup-first routing left it unusable and undismissable. An open modal takes keys, text, pastes and clicks first. The copy shortcut for a retained selection and the completion of a word selection were both still pane-only, so ctrl+c interrupted the popup process instead of copying and a double-click reply was discarded. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…ings `popup.scroll` applied the offset before checking that metrics could be read, but the setter falls back to jumping the viewport to the bottom when the scrollbar is unavailable. The popup moved for the user while the call reported failure. Probe first and leave the terminal untouched on that path. A popup word-selection reply lands now that its completion accepts the popup terminal, so an in-flight one could arrive after the user started a fresh drag and replace it with the word range. Drop the pending request when a popup selection begins, as the pane path already does. A modal opened over a popup owns the keyboard, so it also needs the paste shortcut its text field expects; the popup only suppresses it when no modal is up. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Metrics were read once per render pass, before each client rendered its own popup, so they could describe a different buffer than the pixels they were stamped for. Stamping a surface revision does not make that coherent. Read them inside the popup render, bracketed by the content sequence the way the pane renderer already does, and return an odd revision when the buffer moved so every revision-checked endpoint rejects it rather than resolving a selection against the wrong rows. The control also went out before the frame was accepted, so a full render queue left the client staging metrics whose surface never arrived while the next report overtook the older surface still queued ahead of it. Hold it until the frame is enqueued; the control lane still drains first. A modal over the popup was reachable but inert: the residual popup guard on the mouse path swallowed its clicks. Popup mouse selections were also wiped by any snapshot, since the selection cleanup only exempted copy mode, and a key the popup consumed skipped the retained-selection cleanup, leaving a stale range that the copy shortcut would then copy. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The test writer forwards control messages on a background thread while render frames bypass the queue and land synchronously, so receiving a surface says nothing about whether its control has been handed over. Both popup metrics tests drained the control channel without blocking and raced that thread, which failed on the macOS runner and reproduced locally about once in five runs under load. Wait for the report with a deadline instead, and give the v1 case a bounded wait so it still asserts that none arrives. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
`try_send_render` wakes the writer, so it can claim the frame before a following `control.send` takes the lock. The client then installed the surface with no metrics and staged a report that would never match it again, leaving the popup's selection and copy mode off until some other frame happened to arrive. Enqueue the pair under one lock instead: either both are queued or neither, the control lands ahead of the frame in the writer's priority order, and the render slot gives them shared backpressure. Image transfers bypassed the base-context rule that keys and text follow, so a paste or drop reached the popup while a shell sub-mode or a modal held input. A wheel during a popup drag scrolled the terminal without moving the selection's end, so releasing copied the pre-scroll range. A popup resized under a selection did not invalidate it, because the check only looks at panes. And the popup suppressed the paste shortcut even while its own copy-search prompt was open, where no overlay marks the prompt as modal. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The popup selection check dropped the drag whenever the content revision moved, so with copy-on-select on — the default — any output at all between mouse-down and mouse-up cancelled the selection and no copy was requested. Selecting an older line while a log is still being appended never worked. Compare the selected cells the way the pane path does, so only a write that lands on them invalidates, and keep refusing to resolve a selection when no report is paired with the frame. An alternate screen switch replaces the buffer without necessarily changing the popup's size, which that revision check could not see either. Carry the active screen beside the metrics and drop the selection when it flips. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A direct graphics transfer moves the pending frame onto the ordered lane and frees the render slot, so the next popup frame is accepted while the first is still queued. Both reports then reach the client ahead of both frames, and keeping only the newest stranded the older frame without its pair, which dropped a selection the user was still making. Hold the outstanding reports and commit each frame against the one stamped for it. The active screen was also read after the closing content sequence, so a switch landing in that gap produced a report describing old pixels with an even revision and the new screen. Read it inside the bracket, where a concurrent switch marks the revision odd instead. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A word selection arms a deadline that clears its highlight. The popup's mouse-down left it armed, so starting another drag before it expired let the tick delete the new selection while the button was still down and the release copied nothing. Auditing the two mouse-down paths against each other, the popup was missing four of the six resets the pane does, not one: the highlight deadline, the selection autoscroll, and the workspace, tab and chrome press state. The remaining arms already match — middle click, move and wheel forward under the same mouse-reporting condition, and drag and release go through the shared selection helpers. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

したがって、通常の try_send_render_with_control を使用してもテスト用チャネルは維持されます。
この分岐を削除し、通常の try_send_render_with_control を使用してください。

The mobile workspace switcher covers the screen without opening an overlay, so the popup's second mouse guard swallowed its clicks and neither a workspace target nor the close button responded. The offline endpoint view is the same shape. Both are already handled: the popup branch above returns for every event once the popup is the composed, frontmost surface, and composition drops the popup hit whenever another view takes over, so the extra guard only ever fired for those views. Drop it. Copy mode also lost the cursor to the popup process while one of its own scroll requests was still in flight, because the blit restores that cursor and the coherence check skipped the clear along with the block cursor. Clear it whenever copy mode is active and gate only the replacement cursor on coherence. refs #49 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

popup_input_target()がキーバインド解決より前に全キーを生でポップアップ端末へ転送していたため、prefix がシェルに届かずKeybindAction::CopyModeに到達しなかった。PaneIdはどのワークスペースにも属さないため、pane.selection.read/pane.copy_motion/pane.copy_search/pane.scrollはどの id でもpane_not_foundを返していた。実装

render_popup_surfaceの中、すなわちクライアントごとになります。 1 フレームあたりの増分はscroll_metrics()の短時間ロック 1 回とterminal_idのString1 個で、同じ関数内でフレーム全体を確保するFrameData::from_ratatui_buffer_with_hyperlinksに対して無視できます。
popup_metrics_unchanged && <従来の条件>という AND の追加で、無操作ならcontent_seqもscroll_metrics()も不変 → 従来どおりNone。a_popup_scroll_alone_still_produces_a_frame_for_v2_clientsの最終アサートとa_v1_client_keeps_its_dedup_and_gets_no_popup_metricsで固定しています。積み残し
