More filters for the Nexus Mods games page, built right into the site.
NexusMods Filter+ is a small browser extension that adds extra filters to the Nexus Mods games page, in the sidebar next to Nexus's own. It currently adds Min downloads and Min mods.
Nexus lists 5,600+ games. Sort by Date added and the handful of new games people are actually modding are buried under hundreds with zero or one mod. Nexus's API can't filter by those counts, so the site can't either. NexusMods Filter+ can.
- Feels native. The filters, game tiles, result count and pagination are built from Nexus's own markup and styles.
- Works with everything else. Sort (date added, downloads, mods, …), genre, Vortex support, Collections and name search all keep working, and the sidebar counts update to reflect your minimums.
- Shorthand input.
10k,2.5m,1b,10,000and10.000all work. - Bookmarkable. Minimums live in the URL (
?sort=approved&minDownloads=10k&minMods=50), like Nexus's own filters. - Instant. The full games list is loaded once and cached for an hour; filtering after that takes well under a millisecond.
NexusMods Filter+ isn't on the Chrome Web Store, so it's installed unpacked:
- Download this repo (Code → Download ZIP, then extract) or
git cloneit. - Open
chrome://extensions(oredge://extensions,brave://extensions, …). - Turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select the folder containing
manifest.json.
Works in Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi). Firefox is untested.
Open nexusmods.com/games, find the Popularity section in the sidebar, type a minimum and press Apply (or Enter). Clear both fields and apply to get Nexus's normal listing back.
Open an issue describing the filter you'd like (for example a date range or minimum collections). Anything in Nexus's game data can be filtered on.
When a minimum is set, NexusMods Filter+ fetches every game from Nexus's public GraphQL API (the same one the site uses) in
7 batched requests, caches it with chrome.storage, then applies Nexus's filters plus yours locally and renders the
current page in place of the native results. With no minimum set, it stays out of the way and the page is untouched.
NexusMods Filter+ collects nothing. It only talks to api.nexusmods.com, and the games cache stays in your browser.
- Bookmark buttons aren't shown on filtered tiles (they're wired to Nexus's app internals).
- If Nexus redesigns the games page, NexusMods Filter+ may stop appearing until it's updated; the page itself keeps working.
