Please provide the docker run unraid provides you when the container gets deployed/updated, also please provide a screenshot of the login screen.
From our smoke tests, we don't see any login gui's: https://ci-tests.linuxserver.io/linuxserver/calibre/latest/index.htmlI figured out a way around it thanks, I set the password in the docking config page and used abc and that password to login. I'm not sure why it started asking for that all the sudden it never had before.
I went into the calibre edit in the docker and just removed the password line altogether. Works now.

…Same issue and this took care of it for me. Thanks!
+1 using unraid 7.2.4 and just installed calibre fresh and had to delete the password field to get the web ui to load.

…Same here! Thanks!
Here for the same issue. Used to work fine with just leaving the Unraid config field of Password blank, but as of LSIO Calibre 9.8.0 that forces a login popup. Deleting the field solved the issue, as did downgrading to 9.7.0 without deleting the field.
The question is, why does the LSIO Calibre 9.80 change the effects of having a blank password field?
Reacted by Brendan LeFebvreAs you can clearly see from our repo we didn't change anything.
- So this is something on selkies? Wouldn't it be a good idea to remove the empty password line from the instructions? Or at least explain that an empty password will break things…On 22 May 2026 12:40:41 CEST, Ryan Kuba ***@***.***> wrote: thelamer left a comment (linuxserver/docker-calibre#212) As you can clearly see from our repo we didn't change anything. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: #212 (comment) You are receiving this because you commented. Dude you get the run example is just documentation and not meant to be literally copy and pasted like this right ?
-e PASSWORD= `#optional` \ -e CLI_ARGS= `#optional` \Your password is '#optional' now.
Hi, am running Unraid 7.2.3 and just come across this when trying to access my Calibre app. After updating to the latest version didn't fix it, I looked here and thankfully found it wasn't just me. removing the password field worked for me. Thanks to all who suggested this and thanks to everyone who works hard to keep this project going. Appreciated.
- Glad to help!…On Wed, May 27, 2026, 2:17 PM paulgault ***@***.***> wrote: *paulgault* left a comment (linuxserver/docker-calibre#212) <#212 (comment)> Hi, am running Unraid 7.2.3 and just come across this when trying to access my Calibre app. After updating to the latest version didn't fix it, I looked here and thankfully found it wasn't just me. removing the password field worked for me. I have yet to see a docker run (or even a screenshot of the edit page for the container). There's also just one unraid version mentioned by one guy.
I don't have enough data to properly check anything.
It's on 7.2.4 and the current release, the docker run is all defaults that unraid uses. I can get a screenshot of the defaults if that would help but for me it was literally just clicking install, continue, etc. till the container was up. Setting the password might work, but since it wants a username as well and there isn't a value to set the user name I couldn't get it to log in. Tried root, admin, and administrator. Not sure what the default user is but those are all that I tried.
- the default login is abc I believe from what I found.…On Thu, Jun 4, 2026 at 3:35 PM Mouseater ***@***.***> wrote: *Mouseater* left a comment (linuxserver/docker-calibre#212) <#212 (comment)> I have yet to see a docker run (or even a screenshot of the edit page for the container). Seeing the same issue with the container mounted on a NAS via Portainer. Removed the empty PASSWORD line from my Docker Compose file, redeployed, and the password prompt went away & normal access restored.
Just ran into this today with docker on Debian and the docker-compose example from the readme. I noticed that nginx was configured for authentication before I removed the password line from the docker compose file.
I checked the baseimage-selkie repo and can't find any changes to the PASSWORD logic that would explain this.
I also had the same issue. Removing the "PASSWORD" variable solved the issue.
I have Calibre in my inraid since years, almost never accessed it.
Yesterday i tried (switching from readarr to bindery) and i got the login. Removed the PASSWORD in the parameters, and login is gone, but anyway i get a "Error: This application requires a secure connection (HTTPS). Please check the URL"my unraid is not exposed, so i don't have any SSL certificate on it. How i can work around this problem?
i tried also port 8081 that does ask me for a different user/pw that i don't have. You likely need to add the additional mapping for ports (see the readme) for the SSL port.

Do you get something that has a tab that says GO BACK or ADVANCED??If so click on ADVANCED
Next page that pops up, at very bottom will have a something that says:PROCEED 192.xxx.x.xx (risky) Go ahead and click on that it will take you into Calibre if you don't want to map to SSL port...The address in the example, is your home address for the Calibre server

In Unraid docket management tab, you should check and edit the port for "Desktop GUI Https" as container variable. I had a similar issue and pointing that https to different port helped me. Not sure if this also solve the issue on your side.
I fixed it by going into docker, clicking on the calibre image and then
clicking on edit. About halfway down the edit page I found a line that
said, "password." I then clicked on the remove tab. Then hit apply at the
bottom of page. Took care of the problem!
…this did the trick! thanks! Now working

Current Behavior
I'm running UNRAID and I have the Calibre App setup, after an update today for some when I open the container now it keeps asking for a username/password I don't recall ever having one set on that and now I can't get logged into the main backend gui. Is there some way to reset that password without nuking the entire container and starting over? I've searched around and everything online talks about calibre-web not calibre running on unraid docker.
Expected Behavior
No response
Steps To Reproduce
Unraid server when I try to login it won't take any username or password just keeps prompting me for one. it's what should be port 8181, but I have mine set to 8282 because tautulli runs on 8181.
