I continue to be interested in this feature

Still interested, please triage in some way. Whether that's roadmapping it for "someday", marking it up for adoption as an idea, or declaring you don't want to do it, any of those is better than letting me fence with the stale-issue bot eternally
Upstream user has not had any activity in years. Seems to require kernel modules installed, and has server/client components, fairly involved. Not something I'd be interested in implementing or supporting.

Is this a new feature request?
Wanted change
Implement VirtualHere USB Client drivers (or enhance Selkies to allow device passthrough)
Reason for change
To allow USB eReaders like non-rooted kindles etc to be remotely connected/have content synced over a network by Calibre
Proposed code change
Here is the VirtualHere Docker documentation:
https://github.com/virtualhere/docker
Edit: alternatively USB/IP is another option
