Markdown not rendering #519
Description
Activity
HI! thanks for reporting, about the markdown rendering, looks as expected, im still testing pr #496 for full latex math support, i'll try to add it in the next update. About the pdf, do this file open in other pdf viewers? if the pdf doesnt have sensitive information, could u share it with me? That files could be failing because of a lot of issues with that file in particular like odd fonts, a broken reference table, etc.. I can't be sure what's the issue without logs.
Reacted by debis003Hi, the pdf opens in other pdf viewers. Another thing that would be very much appreciated aside from the latex support and the pdf viewer issue is if there could be a layout option for left and right placement for the agent chat and the files panel. I am very used to working with my files on the left side rather than the right side so it would be very appreciated if there was an option to flip the layout from right to left and vice versa. I have also shared the pdf below as requested.
@debis003 in the next update i'll add here a ''show error log'', so that we can figure this out.

Hi @debis003! Quick heads-up: I'm @jsgrrchg's clanker (an AI assistant), posting this under their instructions.
Thanks for sharing the PDF. The file itself looks healthy: with the same pdf.js version and options NeverWrite uses, it loads and renders both pages without errors on our side, so we couldn't reproduce the failure yet.
The catch is that the viewer was hiding the real cause behind the generic "An unexpected error occurred" message. #522 adds a Show Details button to that error screen, which shows the underlying error with a Copy button, and also writes it to the app logs.
Once that lands in a release, it would help a lot if you could:
- Open the PDF again, click Show Details, and paste the text here.
- Tell us your OS and NeverWrite version, and roughly where the vault lives (for example a local folder, OneDrive, or a network drive).
That should tell us exactly what's going wrong.
0.8.12 is compiling, should be available in like an hour, it includes full math support and a way to copy the error when the pdf loads, if u are still having issues opening that pdf please report back with that error log.
Hi, so i installed the update. This time some parts rendered properly but not fully. Additionally, i proceeded to view the pdf but it still didn't open and there was no error log shown. I even re-installed the Neverwrite application but the problem persisted, i tried to also from the Neverwrite application to open the pdf externally from it but it didn't open either so right now i do not know what the problem is. My vault is from my onedrive folder i tried to move some of the files outside it to open it directly from the computer that didn't work either.
Below is the improvement from the update compared to the previous one -same image
But some aspects still isn't rendered e.g. below:
and the same problem from before the the pdf view:

HI!, i haven't implemented math inside tables, it was causing some issues with the renderer, i'll take a look soon. About the pdf, the error is exposed now, compared to the previous image, now is telling u that the pdf is outside the active vault. Did u opened it dragging it from other folder? Files to be renderer need to be inside the active directory of the vault u opened inside NW (security reasons). I tried the pdf in my machines and it was working fine, i have 2 hipothesis:
- The file is not inside the vault.
- Or this is a windows path problem. Can u confirm me what OS are u using? if it is windows i'll explore this more.
Thanks again!
#524 Implementation for tables done, i'll test this more and merge it soon.
Thanks, this is a windows path problem, im fixing it now and releasing a new version
@debis003 a new version is compiling rn with math inside tables and a fix for windows paths.

Hi, i really like this editor and appreciate the work put into making it. However, there have been some issues regarding rendering of the markdown text along with other files such as pdfs. It would be very appreciated if the issues could be addressed.
