đź‘‹ i'm michael.
i'm a data scientist/research software engineer at the Schmidt Center for Data Science & Environment at the University of California Berkeley, where i work on open software for bioacoustic monitoring.
formerly, i was a postdoctoral researcher in computational ecology working on species distribution modeling using machine learning and computer vision, primarily in Julia and Python.
i'm a contributor to the SpeciesDistributionToolkit.jl Julia package for species distribution modeling, and the primary developer of SpeciesInteractionSamplers.jl, a package for simulating process-based models of the realization and detection of spatiotemporally variable species interaction networks.
