What's preventing progress: Lack of funding, Lack of coordination across projects

Funding: Estimated funding for the initial one-year initiative is approximately $150,000–$180,000, primarily supporting one full-time senior embedded Linux engineer, part-time testing, documentation and safety-process expertise, representative hardware and lab equipment, automated build and test infrastructure, and participation in relevant ELISA meetings and events.
If not pursued, what opportunities/benefits/capabilities will be lost: Without ELISA support, the development of a practical, openly reviewed reference platform for deterministic Linux, mixed-criticality architectures, fault testing, safe-state mechanisms, secure updates, and traceable lifecycle evidence for industrial machines and robotics would be significantly delayed.
