Bug Report
Summary
The payment form crashes with a JavaScript error when a user selects EUR as their currency in the EU payment flow. The page becomes unresponsive and requires a hard refresh.
Problem or Pain Point
- Current behavior: Selecting EUR from the currency dropdown throws an uncaught TypeError and freezes the form
- This affects all EU customers trying to make payments in Euros
- Happens on every attempt — 100% reproducible
- Impact: Users cannot complete purchases in EUR, which is the primary currency for 3 of our 5 EU target markets
Proposed Solution (Feature) / Steps to Reproduce (Bug)
- Go to the checkout page
- Select "Europe" as the billing region
- In the currency dropdown, select "EUR"
- Observe: Page freezes, console shows
TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'format')
Expected: Currency selector updates the price display to EUR formatting
Actual: Page crash with TypeError
Urgency
High — blocking or significantly impacting work
Who is affected?
All EU customers attempting to pay in EUR — estimated ~2,000 users/month based on current EU traffic. This directly blocks the EU Payment Methods launch (#3).
Success Criteria
- EUR currency selection works without errors
- Price displays correctly in € format
- No console errors during currency switching
- EU checkout completion rate returns to baseline
Additional Context
Related to launch #3 (EU Payment Methods). This may be caused by a missing locale configuration for the EUR formatter. The GBP and CHF currencies work fine.
