Navigate logical layers of code changes, visualize relationships, and explore their blast radius. WalkthroughThe change adds an action that configures projects to use packages from a successful prerelease NuGet workflow artifact. CD workflows can opt in to this setup. The prerelease workflow also outputs the SourceGenerators package to the artifact’s collection directory. ChangesPrerelease package resolution

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The new prerelease option is off by default, so normal deployments are unaffected. When enabled, it can fail or still restore Bit packages from nuget.org in three cases: the latest prerelease packages come from a different branch, no successful run appears among the 20 most recent runs, or an existing NuGet source mapping takes precedence. It can merge with follow-up on these cases. Check artifact versions against the CD checkout.
This selection uses the latest successful run across branches and commits. The script itself notes that package versions come from the selected run’s branch. If the CD checkout pins a different Bit.* version, the exclusive mapping added below prevents NuGet from obtaining that version from nuget.org. The opt-in build then fails; matching version numbers from different commits can instead select unintended binaries. Check the artifact IDs and versions against the checkout before changing its sources, or select a compatible run.

Search beyond the first 20 runs.
If the workflow has 20 recent unsuccessful runs, this query returns no successful run even when an older successful run has a usable artifact. The opt-in CD job then stops at Line 35. Filter for successful runs before applying a limit, and account for an older rerun if completion time must determine which run is latest. The CLI supports a success-status filter. (cli.github.com)

Remove competing mappings for Bit.*.
If nuget.config already maps a Bit package to another source, this branch keeps that mapping and adds Bit.* for bit-prerelease. An existing exact ID or longer prefix takes precedence; an equal pattern permits either source. Thus, a valid existing config can still restore Bit packages from nuget.org after this action reports that prerelease packages are active. Replace conflicting Bit mappings while retaining mappings for other packages. NuGet documents both pattern precedence and multi-source matches. (learn.microsoft.com)

To try a library change on the demos, run Prerelease nuget packages on its branch, then All CD with prerelease_packages checked. Both branches have to be on the same version in Bit.Build.props; otherwise the action stops before it changes anything and names both versions.
Checked locally against the latest prerelease artifact: a project without nuget.config, one with bit11's nuget.config and one whose NuGet cache already had the nuget.org copy all restore Bit.Besql and Bit.Butil from the artifact and the rest from their usual sources. The packed template carries the nuget.config into a new project, whose first restore takes Bit.* from the artifact only. actionlint passes on the changed workflows.
