A fully on-chain voxel MMORPG on Sui

AresRPG is a browser MMORPG where every character, item, fight and trade is a Sui object — the client is a renderer of chain truth, with zkLogin onboarding and player-paid transactions. This repository is the whole game: frontend, 3D voxel engine, deterministic combat and its Move twin, SDK, indexer, server, protocol, immutable rules, and the authored seed corpus. Game content (items, mobs, spells, and worlds) lives in seed/ and is published on-chain.

Install / run / test

bun install
bun run dev # frontend at localhost:5173
bun run lint # eslint + prettier
bun run test # every package's unit tests — same command CI runs

Committed pins.json describes mainnet. Local testnet uses ignored .dev/pins.json; it never falls back to mainnet. Run the frontend normally for the selected network.

Blast hosts the standalone KARES presale. The in-game card links to Blast and reads its funding progress when a presale is configured. The app's /kares page hosts staking; the encyclopedia explains allocations, vesting and rewards.

Solana bridge reads use the same-origin /api/solana function. Set SOLANA_RPC_URL as a server-only secret in the frontend Vercel project's production and edge preview environments. The endpoint must support SPL Token and Token-2022 account reads. Never use a VITE_ variable for this credential. For local development, set the same server-only variable in the frontend's ignored local environment; Vite serves the same relay handler. Requests retain the site's Origin, so the upstream provider must allow that domain (including localhost when used locally). The relay admits bounded read requests only; LI.FI broadcasts signed Solana transactions through its separate public write RPC. The receiving Sui wallet remains fixed and has no bridge signer.

Read ARCHITECTURE.md for the current system, DECISIONS.md for active design rulings, and CONTRIBUTING.md for the workflow. Changes to architecture argue the model first; implementation composes the approved owners and seams.

License — source-available, in plain words

This is source-available software, developed in the open — not open-source. See LICENSE for the binding text; the honest summary:

You may: read everything · build and run the game locally · modify it for yourself · contribute improvements back (a CLA signature rides your first PR). You may not: redistribute the software or your modified version · re-host the game · use it commercially. All commercial rights stay with the author. The AresRPG name and logo are not licensed.
