Feature Suggestion: Standalone Sampler

Feature suggestion: standalone/USB sampler function on the performance pads. Load up to 8 samples from USB to the 8 performance pads accessible through one of the pad modes so they can be fired independently on either channel.

Might look into it, however implementing a samples browser on the GUI would be way too much work.

Probably something as PAD1.mp3, PAD2.mp3,... prepared with the computer on USB stick, directly outputting to master, and a separate sampler pad mode button to load them.

If I go that way, which rotary encoder would fit to control sampler volume ?

Hi @Tratosca - thanks for the response. I think loading PAD1.mp3/PAD2.mp3 etc to the USB ahead of time works great. I think it should output to the AUX channel and then it can utilize the TRIM control for AUX for volume. Assuming that works, you could also apply Beat FX to it as well since AUX is an option there.

The standalone sampler is now implemented on main: the foundation is in 804d21e, the current runtime in 29a2d8f, and the desktop bank editor/preview in 0265363. It supports eight pad assignments with one-shot, hold, loop and latch playback. The limits are four simultaneous voices across both decks and eight seconds per sample which should be enough (you can still just load plain audio onto a deck if you want longer samples ! 😆)

This will be included in the next release, planned for the next few days.
