This issue is to track tasks related to the September 2026 spec release:

• Merge any last-minute spec changes
  • document more edge case behavior #1539
  • clarify what is meant by a null string for CL_PROGRAM_SOURCE #1611
  • fix minor refpage issues #1613
  • remove requirement to support ImageBuffer capability #1616 not this release
  • change log for v3.1.2 #1617
  • clarify device non-uniform work-group support #1620
• Update OpenCL-Headers
  • Increment CMake Version Number OpenCL-Headers#194 not this release
• Update OpenCL ICD Loader
  • Skip disabled devices when enumerating ICDs via HKR OpenCL-ICD-Loader#288 ?
• Update OpenCL C++ bindings - no further changes
• Merge any last-minute OpenCL-SDK fixes - no further changes
• Update OpenCL-SDK submodules and project version
• Tag the spec sources - https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCL-Docs/releases/tag/v3.1.2
• Build the specs and create an OpenCL-Registry PR to publish them - OpenCL Specifications v3.1.2 OpenCL-Registry#186
  • Check that all new extensions have been added to the registry HTML no new extensions this release
  • Check that all links work as expected
