💡 What: Replaced json.dumps(data, indent=2) with json.dumps(data, separators=(',', ':')).encode('utf-8') and updated the Content-Type header to include charset=utf-8 in simple_seismic_server.py.
🎯 Why: Pretty-printing JSON in a production server adds unnecessary CPU overhead for formatting and increases payload size over the network. By using compact separators, we eliminate white-space to optimize network bandwidth and serialization throughput.
📊 Measured Improvement:

  • /api/health Endpoint:
    • Baseline: ~779.19 RPS (avg 1.28 ms latency), 226 bytes/req
    • Optimized: ~893.56 RPS (avg 1.12 ms latency), 188 bytes/req
    • Improvement: +14.6% RPS increase and ~16.8% payload size reduction (38 bytes saved per request).
  • /api/seismic/status Endpoint:
    • Baseline: ~874.46 RPS, 861 bytes/req
    • Optimized: ~875.04 RPS, 656 bytes/req
    • Improvement: RPS stable, ~23.8% payload size reduction (205 bytes saved per request).

PR created automatically by Jules for task 3367893809894246863 started by Igor Holt (@igor-holt)

This optimization replaces the slow `indent=2` argument with `separators=(',', ':')` when serializing JSON responses.
It explicitly adds UTF-8 encoding strings and sets the correct HTTP headers.
This improves Requests Per Second (RPS) and reduces overall latency by decreasing payload size and avoiding pretty-printing CPU overhead.

Superseded by #194 (same JSON serialization optimization). Closing duplicate to reduce babysit noise.
