A small, reusable kit that turns a set of presentation slides plus voice narration into a finished narrated MP4 video — no video-editing software required. Drop in your slide images and audio, run one Python script, and get a single web-ready video out the other end.
This repo was first built for a university webinar on Intellectual Property & Working with the Technology Transfer Office, and is designed to be cloned and reused for future webinars by swapping in new slides and audio.
Anyone who has a slide deck and per-slide narration (for example, audio generated with a text-to-speech tool) and wants to assemble them into a single video without learning a video editor.
The script pairs each slide image with its matching audio clip, renders one short video per slide, then stitches them together into the final webinar. Slide 1 supports two voices (e.g. two presenters) joined with a short pause.

├── slides/ ← slide images, 1920×1080 PNGs (slide-01.png …)
└── audio/ ← you add your narration MP3s here (slide-01.mp3 …)
Running the script produces final_webinar.mp4 inside video_kit/.
- Install the two free tools the script needs: Python 3 and ffmpeg.
Step-by-step Windows instructions (including adding ffmpeg to your PATH)
are in
video_kit/HOW_TO_BUILD_VIDEO.md. - Put your narration MP3s in
video_kit/audio/, namedslide-01.mp3,slide-02.mp3, and so on (slide 1 can be split intoslide-01a.mp3andslide-01b.mp3for two voices). - Open a terminal, move into the kit, and run the script:
cd video_kit python build_video.py - When it finishes, play
video_kit/final_webinar.mp4.
The script only re-builds slides whose audio changed, so re-runs are fast.
Two things are intentionally left out (see .gitignore):
- Large, regenerable media — the narration MP3s and the per-slide and final MP4 videos. These rebuild from slides + audio by running the script.
- The original webinar slide images — withheld pending permission and
attribution from their authors. To use the kit, supply your own slide
images in
video_kit/slides/as described above.
Two short documents capture how the original project was built and what it contains:
IP_TTO_project_retrospective.docx— narrative of the build, problems hit, and lessons learned.IP_TTO_artifacts_manifest.docx— inventory of every artifact produced.
