For a PostgreSQL-backed self-hosted instance where you have database/admin access, the current documented whole-bank migration path is Run these in the respective instances' configured environments, with the admin tool pointed at the appropriate database: # Source instance/environment:
hindsight-admin export-bank --bank my-bank --output my-bank.zip
# Transfer the archive securely, then in the target instance/environment:
hindsight-admin import-bank --archive my-bank.zip --target-bank migrated-bankThe target bank ID must not already exist: this restores a whole bank, rather than merging into one. Using a fresh ID avoids deleting an existing bank. The documented archive includes documents, facts, observations, bank configuration, mental models, directives, and webhooks. Embeddings are not exported: the target regenerates them with its configured embedding model and rebuilds links/indexes, without re-running LLM fact extraction or consolidation, and without firing the restored webhooks. Operational history ( For a cutover, follow the runbook: pause source-bank writes, take a backup, export/import, then test representative recall queries and restored configuration on the target before moving traffic. Keep the source available for rollback. This is a point-in-time migration, not continuous replication. For Cloud → self-hosted or self-hosted → Cloud, the Cloud side is the remaining access question. These are database/admin commands, not a client command you can simply point at a Cloud API URL. I cannot establish from that reference that Cloud users have self-service archive export/import; ask Cloud support whether they can provide or ingest this bank archive format. The self-hosted commands alone do not establish support for both Cloud directions. |

How can I migrate my data e.g Memory Bank and other related data from an Instance of Hindsight (e.g Cloud or self-hosted) to another instance (e.g Cloud or another self-hosted instance).
