Why do we need Rs485 adapter? #1234

If you can get the Sequent rs485 working, then you don't need another one. But often they conflict with some of the GPIO pins or don't operate the pass-through properly or go bad. When that happens, having a separate port is the answer. |

Why do we need the rs485 adapter when it's already built on to the Sequent board? Is it because of Bluetooth? We don't use BT right? Thanks
