This is already available in released DBX v0.6.40. The search field at the top of the connection sidebar supports case-insensitive substring matching: searching for The released implementation includes an explicit substring match, so no new feature is needed for the example in this discussion. This does not claim that every search-scope bug is resolved; those are tracked separately. Please retry on v0.6.40 or later. Closing as resolved. If this exact behavior still fails, open an issue with the DBX version, database type, selected search scope, search text and a screenshot. Feature Request: Search Tables by Name
I’m using DBX regularly, and I feel like it’s missing a useful feature when working with databases that contain a large number of tables.
It would be helpful to have a search bar for filtering tables by their names.
For example, if the database contains a table named:
user_bank_accountsI should be able to type:
bank_accountsinto the search bar and have DBX show
user_bank_accountsas a matching result. The search could work as a partial/substring match, so it would be useful for quickly finding tables without having to manually scroll through a long list.
This would make navigating databases with many tables much faster and easier.
