Hi Jan team,
I have a feature request for the app. Right now, Jan configures the environment and API keys for Claude Code, but using it still requires opening an external terminal.
Adding a native GUI wrapper directly inside the Jan app would fix this. Users could chat with Claude Code, view file diffs, and approve actions inside the visual interface while the CLI process runs in the background.
Since open source projects like Nimbalyst and OpenWork already implement this, you could reference their code bases to build it faster.
Combining a visual interface with Claude Code's file handling would make the app much easier and cleaner to use. Let me know what you think.
