First of all thanks for this. So i set this thing up using cargo on windows and wanted to customize themes just like the one u showcased in pic but couldn't do it.

G'day,

Thanks for the kind words!

Actually, theming is not implemented yet, although it is planned in the roadmap.

The colours you see are purely based on your terminal theme.

For now, you can work around this by theming your terminal instead.

oh so that's it haha thanks for the quick reply i've been loving it.

Hey! commendable work there achieving greater functionality with a beautiful interface under 30MB memory usage.

I have a few questions:

• is NowPlaying API not implemented on macOS?
• is there a config option to change the startup mode or search type?
• how to get user playlists to show-up in the playlist mode?

[nick42d]

G'day, Merry Xmas and thanks for the kind words!

• is NowPlaying API not implemented on macOS?

It should be - I am using a cross-platform crate to implement this (souvlaki), however there may be a bug in my usage of it, and unfortunately I'm unable to resolve it as I don't own any apple devices. PR welcome

• is there a config option to change the startup mode or search type?

What is startup mode?
Search type, no there isn't, but feel free to raise an enhancement request or PR.

• how to get user playlists to show-up in the playlist mode?

Viewing your own library (songs / playlists) is not yet implemented, but it is planned.

oh this one, I remember ytermusic had this bug too. While I figured out that a terminal process needs to have some kind of a window process on macOS in order for media controls to work, I couldn't manage to implement the bug fix due to time constraints. Anyways, now when I reinstalled ytermusic, it registered with the NowPlaying API just fine AND now there is a 'ytermusic' icon in the dock too - this indicates they do have a window process now.

PR welcome

Sure, I'll take at it again.

What is startup mode?

sorry for the ad hoc terminology. I mean when I start/open youtui, it opens up to 'Search' mode with search type 'Artist'. I want it to open to 'Playlist' mode or at least to a different search type. Basically my use-case is exactly the interface of ytermusic - opens up to user playlists with a quick shortcut f to perform a search.

Viewing your own library (songs / playlists) is not yet implemented, but it is planned.

could we get this sooner, pretty please 🥺

could we get this sooner, pretty please 🥺

I believe the current workaround for this is to publicly upload you playlist (and then it is searchable in youtui_
