4:3 “Pillar Box” no LEDs mapped on sides

• I confirm that this is an issue rather than a question.

It seems that after step testing through all Blackbar detection modes and threshold variations I can’t achieve an expected result. 1 of 2 scenarios occurs;

1. Letterbox w/ a threshold of 4+ gets lighting on top/bottom of screens. But never any side lighting (regardless of threshold).
2. Any other mode will get lighting on all 4 sides however all other modes appear to remap a new rectangle which crops sides AND top/bottom. Treats 4:3 content as if all 4 sides have black bars instead of just the 4:3 pillar bars.

An example of what other modes do. Now the sides are accurately reproducing color in the right areas, but the top and bottom are seemingly mapped to an area which is not the image/screen edge for top/bottom. It appears to be sampling further inwards from top/bottom than at screen edge, despite no black bars at top and bottom. Regardless of threshold I get 4 sided black bar treatment in every mode except letterbox. As stated in original issue, the letterbox works correctly for top/bottom but not the sides.

In some cases the mapping of sampled area to LEDs appears to flip ( vertically <|>) after a few seconds of video playback. You can see the blue/teal LED color on the bottom left despite the Doctors blue/teal Uniform on the lower right. Oddly it starts out correctly while the video is pauses but after a few seconds the mapping flips….
