The self-hosting guide is clear. One addition that would help: a section on reverse proxy configuration for the realtime component. The docs mention it is partly qualified but do not show a working nginx or Caddy config. Many self-hosters will hit websocket upgrade issues on first deploy. A minimal working example would save a lot of GitHub issues. |

You can run Orbit on your own Postgres, Redis and S3-compatible storage today by following https://noveum.github.io/orbit/self-hosting.
bun run infra:upgives you the three dependencies locally; the guide covers what each environment variable does and which login methods you need to configure.Preview means the provider-neutral production path is not yet a supported contract: there are no published images, no production Compose file, no first-owner bootstrap, no tested backup and restore, and realtime behind a reverse proxy is only partly qualified. Those are #392, #393, #394 and #391, tracked under #388. The hosted product at https://orbit.noveum.ai is the supported realtime deployment until that gate is complete.
If something in the guide does not work on your machine, say so in this thread with the OS and the command that failed. That is exactly the report we want.
