I've been exploring an optional, visual learning companion for ODE and would love feedback on whether it fits the project.
The idea is a Scratch-like exercise where a learner assembles a detection from blocks for events, conditions, timing, tuning, and alert actions. A short coach prompt asks them to explain choices such as which telemetry is needed, what benign activity could match, and how they would test the rule. A conceptual rule sketch and a replay against synthetic events make the consequences visible. The exercise would explicitly distinguish a plausible rule from a tested or operationally validated detection.
I'd start with one vendor-neutral pilot exercise aligned with the proposed Core areas of Detection Requirements, Telemetry & Data, Detection Design, and Testing & Validation. I have a local concept prototype, but it has not been reviewed by practitioners or tested with learners. I'd be happy to contribute the pilot and revise it with community feedback.
Would this be useful as an ODE lab or companion to the curriculum? What would you want to see in a first pilot before considering it for the project?
